Darwinian Racism Exposed

Darwinists compare African tribes people to chimpanzees. How is this not racist? Where is the outrage?

Politicians step on themselves trying to avoid the label “racist,” but Darwinists have long been among the worst racists in history. It continues to this day. How do they get away with it? Darwin himself was racist, writing that the advanced European races would some day exterminate the “primitive” races. He sanctified that with his own theory, and some of his followers committed genocide using his ideas as justification. Darwinism is inherently racist, because it postulates that so-called “hominids,” in their progression from the great apes, became humans through a long process of evolution, and some groups evolved faster than others.

Darwinists have long ranked “hominids” by their evolutionary progress. National Geographic illustration.

If you think Darwinians have repented of their racism and come clean, look at a new “study” by German Darwinists published in the UK by Nature‘s open-access journal Scientific Reports. The summary on Phys.org is titled, “How humans and chimpanzees travel towards a goal in rainforests.” If this is an indictment of all human beings as evolved apes, then why does it open with a picture of black tribespeople wandering through a rainforest in an African jungle? Why do the only two photos show African women and a chimpanzee assuming similar poses, looking up into the forest canopy? The elitists of the Max Planck Society, in their academic centers, treat the African people as their lab animals!

How do human-unique ranging styles, like large home range and trail use, influence the way we travel to our goals? Researchers from the Max Planck Institute for Evolutionary Anthropology, Leipzig, Germany, investigated spatial movement patterns of the Mbendjele BaYaka people and Taï chimpanzees. Human foragers and chimpanzees traveled in similarly straight lines towards goals, but they showed clearly different patterns in how they change linearity and speed depending on group size and familiarity with an area.

The Darwinian researchers, afflicted with the Yoda complex, set out to study these people and compare them with apes. They were not trying to affirm their humanity, and tell the world that all people deserve equal dignity. And the tribespeople did not get a chance to study the racism of the evolutionary anthropologists. This was a very lopsided “study” that put innocent people of color into a Darwinian test tube along with chimpanzees.

Haneul Jang and her colleagues from the Max Planck Institute for Evolutionary Anthropology set out to study how human foragers and chimpanzees compare in their spatial movement patterns in similar rainforest environments. To this aim, the researchers measured travel linearity and speed of five Mbendjele BaYaka women from the Republic of Congo and five female chimpanzees from Taï forest when they traveled off-trail areas to out-of-sight food locations during their daily search for food in the rainforest.

Compounding the ethical lapses in this “study,” the researchers only used female chimps and female women – making this exercise sexist as well as racist. With clipboards in hand, they observed their lab animals in their “natural habitat.” If this were a scientific study, where was the control group? Why didn’t they test the navigation skills of white people navigating an unfamiliar city? Why didn’t they test their own skills navigating through the jungle, and humble themselves to take lessons in route-finding from the women they studied?

Even though they found differences between the women and the apes, they treated both groups equally like lab animals – closely-related species, at that.

According to the authors, this study is the first necessary step needed to compare long-range spatial movement patterns of human and chimpanzee populations in their natural habitats. “Our study provides insights into how two closely related species living in similar environments can differ in their spatial movement patterns, which possibly results from their different ranging styles,” says Jang. “We hope our study can contribute to expanding comparative research on spatial movement patterns to a wide range of primate species and populations, including humans, in natural environments.”

Not a single word is heard in academia about the racism of this study. In fact, academia approved of it. The Ethics Statement shows little difference between concern about the rights of the women of color, and concern about proper treatment of the chimps:

The field research on Mbendjele BaYaka people and Taï chimpanzees was approved by the relevant authorities of the Republic of Congo and Côte d’Ivoire, respectively …. All study procedures were carried out in accordance with the national laws and regulations of the respective country, as well as the ethical standards of the Max Planck Institute for Evolutionary Anthropology and the Primatology department’s ethical guidelines for non-invasive research, and the Comité d’Ethique de la Recherche en Sciences de la Santé … in Brazzaville, Republic of Congo. For the Mbendjele people, we obtained informed consent from each focal woman and their families, allowing us to follow their daily foraging trips.

Authors of Darwinist anthropology papers need to be consistent with their own primate roots. Are their “scientific” papers glorified monkey screeches?

Does the fact that they obtained permission from the five women and their families excuse the racism? Did they explain to the women that they were comparing them to chimpanzees? What did they say, and what did they not say? Charts in the paper and Supplemental Information show two columns comparing the people with the chimpanzees, considering both groups as closely-related primates. Was this “study” fair? Did the leaders in Congo give their people an opportunity to use the German scientists as lab animals in their native habitat? Not likely!

Another example of Darwinian racism occurred in 2014, when researchers listened to the campfire stories of African Bushmen to learn about their “evolutionary” past (see 23 Sept 2014). Back in 2009, anthropologist Jared Diamond was sued by New Guinea tribesmen for studying them like lab animals and publishing stories about their evolution without their permission. Even so, backlash against academics for racist studies like this is rare. So great is the esteem granted to a “scientist” like an “evolutionary anthropologist,” no one dare call their work racist. Usually, all the leaders in academia and publishers of journals praise such work on “primates” as advancing knowledge of “human evolution.”

You may think that this “study” is justifiable, no different than comparing the eyes or wrist bones of humans and chimps. But you can be assured that no politician or professional in any other career would EVER get away with comparing black African women with chimpanzees! In the current Presidential debates in the USA, the word “racist” is being hurled about as the worst possible epithet. Any hint or suggestion of superiority against “people of color” is quickly met with wrath, sometimes leading to resignations out of shame. Suppose one of the debaters called a female candidate a “primate” and tried to compliment her that she is better at navigating the supermarket than a chimpanzee is. Can you imagine the national outrage, the global outrage? There would be no end of it for weeks. The perpetrator would be shamed out of any political career forever.

Intolerance of racism stems from the recognition that humans are exceptional. We are not just “primates” finding our way through the jungle. We have souls. We have extreme value over all animals. Biblical creationists deny the existence of races! There is only one race, the human race. Religious-based racism has been a fact of history, but it does not come from the Bible; it comes from our sinful nature, and from cultures with selfish beliefs. “Scientific” racism, however, exploded after Darwin. Bible believers should know, and believe, that all human beings are equally endowed with the image of God, and have eternal value as souls that will live forever. We are all endowed with rights given by our Creator. We all deserve dignity and worth, despite our sinful natures inherited from Adam and Eve, the father and mother of all humans. Whatever variations in physical traits have developed in the last few thousand years since creation have not changed our essential nature and value before God. The Apostle Paul emphasized the equality before God of men and women and people from all nations. One of the first converts was a black official from Ethiopia (Acts 8), and many others followed from throughout the Roman empire. In heaven, the Bible promises equal participation and blessing to believers from all tribes and nations:

9 After this I looked, and behold, a great multitude that no one could number, from every nation, from all tribes and peoples and languages, standing before the throne and before the Lamb, clothed in white robes, with palm branches in their hands, 10 and crying out with a loud voice, “Salvation belongs to our God who sits on the throne, and to the Lamb!”11 And all the angels were standing around the throne and around the elders and the four living creatures, and they fell on their faces before the throne and worshiped God, 12 saying, “Amen! Blessing and glory and wisdom and thanksgiving and honor and power and might be to our God forever and ever! Amen.” (Revelation 7:9-12)

Darwinists for nearly two centuries have tried to rank people by intelligence, by skull capacity, and other artificial measures, assuming based on Darwinism that some people are more evolved than others. And just like corrupt dictators who always win elections by a landslide, the European whites always came out on top. European “anthropologists” who treat their fellow African human beings like “primates” who can be “studied” alongside chimpanzees need a heart transplant. They need to recognize that we are all created by a God who stamped us with His image. They need to repent and be born again. Then they need to open a Bible and train themselves to love their Creator with all their mind, and love their human neighbors as themselves. Let’s test their humility by letting a black missionary from the Congo come to the Max Planck Institute and preach the gospel to the scientists.

Exercise: Tell one of the leaders of a prominent black rights organization that “evolutionary anthropologists” compared black women with chimpanzees, and see what they do about it.
