As we pointed out on May 12, Big Science and their Big Media accomplices have a chronic case of TDS (Trump Derangement Syndrome) that damages their credibility and insults over half the voters in America. But the “scientific community” (whatever that monstrosity of a term represents) doesn’t care, and the anti-conservative drumbeat continues apace. It can get downright depressing for conservatives seeing such political imbalance in an industry that supposedly values objectivity.
Note: What follows is not to be taken as an endorsement of all that the Trump administration is doing. It is simply trying to bring some balance back to the news. Avoid the either-or fallacy. Spraying water on a fire does not mean we want a flood instead.
To avoid catching the TDS mind virus and losing your mental health, we have a simple technique to help you keep your sanity. It can actually turn the anger into occasions for rejoicing. When you see TDS, shout PTL—praise the Lord! For instance, when Big Science complains about Trump’s cuts to DEI programs (diversity/equity/inclusion) at universities, smile at the leftist reporter on TV and shout ‘Praise the Lord! Somebody is finally doing something about this racist nonsense that is dividing our country!’
If enough people do this, reporters may get the hint that their bias is not working.
Let’s try this technique on some recent headlines from Big Science Media.
Trump’s call for ‘gold-standard science’ has prompted an outcry: here’s why (Nature, 28 May 2025). Reporters Jeff Tollefson and Dan Garisto at Nature expect us to join in their outrage as they sound the alarm, “Thousands have signed an open letter against the US president’s latest order, anxious about political interference in science and more.”
PTL! We finally have a president getting science out of the swamp and returning science to a higher standard of evidence-based research devoid of political bias! Hallelujah!
Beyond the backlash: What evidence shows about the economic impact of DEI (The Conversation, 29 May 2025). Egghead Rodney Coates (Miami University) argues that DEI is good, even though it is very unpopular with the majority of Americans.
PTL! It’s about time that the government fights back against this Marxist, racist movement that discriminates against whole classes of qualified applicants and judges people by their ethnic and social characteristics instead of their character and education.
The American mass exodus to Canada amid Trump 2.0 has yet to materialize (The Conversation, 29 May 2025). Lori Wilkinson (U of Manitoba) seems surprised that all the leftists who threatened to migrate to Canada after Trump was elected haven’t done so in great numbers. So she advises illegal aliens in the USA to self-deport to Canada where they might escape the Trump administration’s campaign to mass deport people who entered the country illegally.
PTL! Give our gangsters, criminals and lawbreakers to the leftist government in Ottawa and see how they like it. But our PTL is subdued somewhat since the leftists who threatened to leave are still here.
The WHO penned the world’s first pandemic agreement — but the US isn’t signing (Live Science, 29 May 2025). Reporter Nicole Hassoun seems depressed that the USA is not joining the other leftist globalists signing a United Nations pandemic agreement. Let’s help her out.
PTL! We finally have a president standing up against the Marxist-globalist-leftists in the U.N. who want to reduce American sovereignty!
When TDS glares at you…
Trump v Harvard: Why this battle will damage the US’s reputation globally (The Conversation, 29 May 2025). In spite of having its $52 billion endowment, Harvard is upset the Trump is withdrawing federal funds because the school refuses to deal with antisemitism on campus. But leftist Thomas Gift of UCL seems to actually want Harvard to get away with that!
PTL! Finally there is some accountability, and taxpayer funds will no longer have to support radicals on campus attacking Jews.
Trump administration jeopardises key report on climate change (New Scientist, 29 Jan 2025). Reporter James Dinneen is all upset that the Trump administration “has dismissed all of the researchers working on the next installment of the National Climate Assessment, a crucial report on how climate change is affecting the country.”
PTL! Finally the government is acting to undo the Green New Scam perpetrated by the liberal Biden administration.
Housing, nutrition in peril as Trump pulls back Medicaid social services (Phys.org, 21 May 2025). Reporter Angela Hart vents her TDS halitosis at a website that supposedly publishes news on “science.”
PTL! The DOGE team is taking action against waste, fraud, and abuse, like eliminating checks being sent to 5 million people who are over 130 years old according to records, and against foreign enemies from China and Russia that are defrauding taxpayer largess.

Harvard researchers devastated as Trump team cuts nearly 1,000 grants (Nature, 23 May 2025). Reporter Dan Garisto treats grants as if scientists have a natural right to taxpayer money.
PTL! Scientists will have to prioritize their work and become more efficient and transparent with their gifts from taxpayers.
Trump’s Golden Dome defence project could spur a space arms race (New Scientist, 23 May 2025). Israel has protected its citizens from thousands of rocket attacks over the years, but Jeremy Hsu is worried about a possible arms race if the Trump administration goes ahead with its plan to protect the American homeland.
PTL! Reporter in a “science” magazine exposed as a political hack and false prophet!
These are just a few recent samples of a non-stop drumbeat of leftist bias against conservatives in the so-called “science” media. Many more could be posted, but would lengthen this article significantly. You get the point.
So now you have a way to keep your equanimity when reading the news, and taking a positive attitude about it. When you see reporters with TDS grinding their teeth and trying to infect you with their hate, just shout PTL!
