Illustra Documentary Now Online

Illustra Media’s hour-long documen-
tary about the Cambrian Explosion
is now available freely on YouTube

It was Illustra Media’s 3rd major documentary in the Intelligent Design series, but until now, was only available to Chinese, Arabic and German speakers on Illustra’s YouTube channel. Except for the dramatic 2.5-minute trailer, English speakers could only view the documentary on DVD or streaming (for a price) at Go2RPI.com. It is the documentary Darwin’s Dilemma, the film that completed the Intelligent Design Collection including Unlocking the Mystery of Life and The Privileged Planet which were already available on YouTube.

At the urging of CEH editor David Coppedge, who is a board member of Illustra Media, the staff has just completed reformatting and uploading Darwin’s Dilemma on their YouTube Channel. It went live today, April 18, 2026. It is now viewable in a playlist of 5 chapters at this link:

DARWIN’S DILEMMA is based on the book Darwin’s Doubt by Dr Stephen Meyer, who also appears in the film with other leading proponents of I.D. including Dr Paul Nelson, Dr Jonathan Wells, and Dr Richard Sternberg. Production was completed in 2009. The documentary presents fossil evidence that defies Darwinian evolution and supports Meyer’s argument that the Cambrian fossil record provides strong evidence for intelligent design.

Darwin himself was disturbed by the Cambrian fossil record when he wrote his book The Origin of Species in 1859. He had no answer. Agreeing that it could be considered one of the strongest evidences against his theory, he hoped that future fossil discoveries might fill in the transitional forms his theory demanded should exist.

This film shows that not only has Darwin’s dilemma worsened in the intervening years, but biological knowledge since 1859 actually narrows the options. Meyer argues that there is only one plausible source for the information required to originate multiple new body plans with hierarchical organization. That source is intelligence.

With higher resolution than its predecessors in the collection, this documentary looks and sounds excellent. Featuring lifelike animations, stunning location shots, interviews with leading scientists and a powerful orchestral score by composer Mark Lewis, Darwin’s Dilemma makes a big impression and a strong case for intelligent design.
