Big Science Digs In on Its Leftist Bias
Academia has long forgotten
that science is supposed to be
apolitical and impartial
Unrepentant of their political bias, members of the Big Science Cartel have chosen to remain out of touch with the hand that feeds them: the taxpaying public (see 6 Nov 2024). A majority of Americans now approve of the cost-saving discoveries being made by DOGE and the Trump administration, and think that Trump is taking America on the right track. One would think scientists would welcome cutting costs and reducing waste. But like screaming, pouting, growling Democrats at Trump’s address Tuesday night to a joint session of Congress, enjoyed by 69% of American viewers, the Darwin Party and its enablers in Big Science cannot find one thing to applaud—not even the hostages released by Trump, or the 13-year-old cancer patient wannabe policeman he made an honorary agent of the Secret Service. Here’s a collection of headlines from the major organs of Big Science in the last few weeks:
Why federal courts are unlikely to save democracy from Trump’s and Musk’s attacks (The Conversation, 12 Feb 2025). Notice the biased language. Phys.org reposted this rant without any rebuttals from conservatives.
USAID funding freeze devastates reproductive healthcare worldwide (New Scientist, 19 Feb 2025). Horrors! The cuts to the corrupt, money-laundering agency NSAID are reducing abortions in other countries! Babies might live!
Exclusive: NIH to terminate hundreds of active research grants (Nature, 6 March 2025). The editors at Nature want to keep all that waste, fraud and abuse. They think they deserve that taxpayer money to spend any way their leftists hands desire. Most Americans are glad to toss DEI in the trashpile of history, but this article says, “Studies that touch on LGBT+ health, gender identity and DEI in the biomedical workforce could be terminated, according to documents obtained by Nature.” How awful!

Trump Derangement Syndrome is a mental illness that can turn otherwise intelligent scientists into irrational bullies and terrified haters. Treatment options: a Darwin teddy bear, or piles of Monopoly money that look like dollars. (Grok/XI)
‘Silence is complicity’ — universities must fight the anti-DEI crackdown (Nature, 5 March 2025). Nature is a Big Science bully with a bad case of TDS (Trump Derangement Syndrome). As the ship of DEI sinks in the west and conservative Americans cheer, Nature allowed far-left DEI activist Rebecca Calisi Rodríguez to scream, “Higher-education establishments must not be bullied into abandoning their mission of diversity, equity and inclusion.”
Longtime NIH leader Francis Collins retires (Medical Xpress, 3 March 2025). Obama appointee Francis Collins, a darling of liberal evangelicals, was given an all-positive retirement write-up by India Edwards in this piece. Why didn’t she mention any of the awful spots on his record brought to light by John West of the Discovery Institute? (Evolution News, 10 Feb 2025; see also 6 March 2025 and Christian Post). Collins was a promoter of theistic Darwinism and strong opponent of intelligent design – positions that made him tolerable to the political left.
Protect US racial affinity groups (Science, 27 Feb 2025). The American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS), publisher of Science, joins the campaign to protect DEI from Donald Trump’s executive order to cease Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion programs across the federal government. The AAAS “Member Update” email today (March 6) begins with fearmongering generalities:
We are living in a time of turmoil and frustration in the scientific community. The seemingly random cuts in the federal science workforce are weakening the science and technology foundation our nation is built on.
Trump’s war on climate science is pushing us into a dystopian future (The Conversation, 27 Feb 2025). This fearmongering diatribe was penned by a prof at Flinders University. How about some debate, some equal time, some balance on this controversial issue? You won’t find it at this pro-Darwin leftist website.
Diversity, equity and inclusion in the workplace are under attack. Here’s why they matter more than ever (The Conversation, 28 Feb 2025). More anti-Trump rhetoric from this website that wants racism to continue (i.e., where people are judged by their skin color, not their merit). The closest thing to a rebuttal was Jeffrey To’s article February 8 that called for DEI programs to “fix systems, not people.” He argues that DEI is not the problem; it just needs “reframing” to reduce public opposition.
Helping teachers learn what works in the classroom − and what doesn’t − will get a lot harder without the Department of Education’s Institute of Education Sciences (The Conversation, 11 Feb 2025). Two psychologists defend a bureaucracy that is on the chopping block by the Trump Administration. Why don’t they bemoan the fact that the education bureaucracy has produced the lowest educational scores among 40 nations despite spending more money per pupil than other countries? Why aren’t they supporting the return of education to the parents and states? Here’s why: Big Science loves the powerful, selfish teachers’ unions.
How Trump’s ‘drill, baby, drill’ pledge is affecting other countries (BBC News, 16 Feb 2025). As in America, the legacy media in the UK is owned and operated by Trump-hating leftists. They use fear-mongering and hate-mongering to foist their leftist opinions on their readers.
Daily briefing: Nature denounces Trump’s attack on US research (Nature, 26 Feb 2025). What is the droning sound we hear? Oh, it’s just Big Science acting out another TDS exercise. See also the 24 Feb rant by Nature, “Postdocs and PhD students hit hard by Trump’s crackdown on science.” Why not call it a crackdown on waste, fraud and abuse instead of a crackdown on “science”? These “poor” students have career options. They won’t starve. They could work at McDonalds like Trump did, or a garbage truck like Trump did.

TDS symptoms can be alleviated by meditating on the idol and praying to him for more funding. (Grok/XI)
Trump 2.0: an assault on science anywhere is an assault on science everywhere (Nature, 28 Feb 2025). The editors of Nature are a lost cause and always have been. They are bought and paid for the the political left and their idol, Charles Darwin. You can safely ignore whatever they say about those subjects. Some good science is published by individual researchers from time to time, but one has to read anything they publish with awareness of their bias.
Trump, Putin and Musk all share a leadership style – we’ve figured out what it is (The Conversation, 24 Feb 2025). Here’s the Association Fallacy at work: lumping two America-loving conservatives with a Soviet communist and calling them all “dictators.” Strange; nothing by these leftists about North Korea or Venezuela.
This list is already too long. We couldn’t find any in Big Science Media that were appreciative of what the Trump administration is accomplishing, even though the majority of Americans are happy about the cuts and think Trump is leading America on the right track after four years of lawlessness, incompetence and waste under Biden. Notice the selective outrage in these articles. Hey leftists in the Big Science Cartel, where is your outrage over the inhumane treatment of the Israeli hostages? (X post, 5 March). Where is your outrage at the antisemitism on your college campuses? Where is your outrage at the 70 Christians that were beheaded in the Congo a few weeks ago? (WND, 26 Feb).
Big Science is out of touch with the majority and will remain so until it gets out of politics, ditches Darwin, and returns to the ideals of science: investigating nature with methods that are observable, testable and repeatable. Senator John Kennedy just told Larry Kudlow, “When you trim fat, pigs squeal. It’s just the way the world works. It’s a law of nature.”
