Coral Ridge MinistriesÂ
The late Dr. D. James Kennedy, pastor of Coral Ridge Presbyterian Church in Florida, was a strong defender of creation, family values and preaching the gospel. The founder of the Evangelism Explosion witnessing program, Dr. Kennedy also championed using media to present the evidence for creation in his “Truths that Transform” TV series. After his death, the ministry seemed to flounder for awhile with various attempts to get a new footing. We are glad to see that about a year ago, Dr. Robert J. Pacienza, a graduate of Kennedy’s academy who was personally commended by Dr. Kennedy, has caught his vision and is now using new media to present the gospel and defend Biblical creation. Visit their ministry page crm.tv. and their YouTube channel where presentations new and old are available, some going back 50 years. One video published in 2022 includes both Dr Kennedy and Dr Pacienza giving arguments against evolution, with snippets of interviews with Dr Jonathan Wells and Dr Stephen Meyer. We pray for a continuing strong creation outreach from the venerable organization.
David Rives Ministries
David Rives (pronounced reeves) continues his nonstop, widespread and prodigious output of activities including videos, podcasts, field trips, a large bookstore of Biblical creation books, and a massive creation museum west of Nashville, Tennessee, The Wonders Center and Science Museum—a great family destination that also offers special lectures and concerts. Dr Jerry Bergman, one of our regular writers here at CEH, appeared in his most recent edition of Genesis Science Report (posted September 1), and CEH editor David Coppedge has been on several previous broadcasts. Ever since his start with TBN producing creation videos, David Rives has published quality material on a variety of subjects from fossils to cosmology to incredible animals to the human body; see this interesting one about the human foot for a sample. The weekly hour-long GSR videos include two interviews with leading creation scientists, Q&A, a Kids’ Corner, ministry highlights, and an opening monologue, with good production quality. We hope David Rives and his young energetic crew will continue for many years to come.
Illustra Media
Regular readers of CEH know that we love to post Illustra Media’s latest short videos here. Producer Lad Allen, editor Jerry Harned and their crew have been delivering high-quality film products for 27 years now and are still going strong. At their website TheJohn1010project.com, visitors will have a wealth of wonderful short videos to maintain their attention for hours and hours. Illustra began by making full-length documentaries on nature, science and Biblical apologetics in 1998. Those films maintain their high interest even from those early days of VHS tape, and now many of those films are available in foreign languages at the @IllustraMedia YouTube channel that has over 20 million views. The CEH editor has been on their board of directors since the founding and serves occasionally as a science consultant, but Lad and Jerry, even after all these years of work, are the heroes of this ministry; they continue putting out evergreen material of exceptional quality month after month, year after year.
